I handle things on my own. It’s easier that way. If anything goes wrong, I become the immediate cause. When I depend on myself, I prevent myself from having people disappoint me when they fail to accomplish the pettiest favors, or the simplest promises. It’s not that I hate people or have no trust in them. The fact of the matter is: I got a lot more going for me when I keep my own chin up high.
